One in four Czech girls targets of sexual abuse-experts
One in four
Czech girls and one in seven boys experienced either
sexual abuse or attempted abuse during their childhood,
chairwoman of the Child Crisis Centre Zora Duskova said
at a seminar on the children's rights last week.

Czech Republic: Possession of child pornography to be criminal offence
Possession of child
pornography will probably be a new criminal offence
punishable with up to two years in prison in the Czech
Republic, according to an amendment to the penal law
that the Chamber of Deputies passed recently.

Child prostitution decreasing in Bulgaria
"In 2005, 521 cases of underage girls who
prostitute were registered, while the number in 2006 was
308," the Ministry of the Interior's Rumen Petkov told

Bulgarian prostitution ring bust in Norway
A series of police raids on Tuesday
resulted in ten arrests in a Bulgarian prostitution
ring. One of the ten arrested has been charged with
human trafficking, Oslo police said in a press release.

Czech Republic: Prostitution ban is constitutional
A Czech court
ruling giving towns the power to limit prostitution in
public places is being knocked by municipalites as a
Band-Aid approach to a serious problem that is still not
properly addressed by law. Sex for sale, long visible in
border towns serving German and Austrian clients, has
largely moved indoors but remains as lucrative as ever
for brothels, they say.
